Back in early 1984, most of us were not aware of the impact that technology would have on our future. Personal computers were only beginning to be sold, and seemed unnecessary to the everyday person. Today, computers are everywhere; on every desk and in every pocket. Corporate Disk Company was ahead of its time, innovating and adopting technology as new developments were made.

In the early days, our focus was the labeling of boxed diskettes for corporations. As our customers' needs changed and technology advanced, we expanded into duplication of diskettes, along with printing and packaging. Eventually, our customers needed options with more storage capability, and we added CDs and DVDs to our repertoire. We also helped to streamline storage and distribution by offering warehousing and fulfillment of our customers' products, with the development of our online fulfillment system.

At the beginning, we were just doing what we could to best serve our customers, but reflecting back on the early stages of the company, we are proud of the innovation and early adoption of technology that has enabled us to be a leader in the industry. We've grown with the needs of our customers, and we've worked hard to be innovative and push for growth. We have been able to stay ahead of the curve, offering more products and services to make our customers' procurement, production, and shipping a one-stop solution.

Today, we are a full-service, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, constantly offering new products to our customers, such as Blu-Ray discs and USB flash drives. Our company now employs over 100 dedicated staff members, and continues to grow to meet the needs of our clients. Everyone here would like to thank you for helping to shape our company for the last 25 years, and we look forward to the next 25!

As the leaves start falling, it becomes our industry's busiest time of the year, so to help your projects run smooth and finish on time, please remember to:

-Plan for additional production time
-Submit artwork & master early
-Pre-schedule jobs and production time
-Get approvals expedited quickly
-Have all materials ready at the same time
-Advise of deadline needs as soon as possible

DVDPlus© OneDisc™: Have you ever needed to package a CD and a DVD together into one product? We are proud to introduce a revolutionary new product that can actually combine a CD and a DVD. The DVDPlus© is a hybrid optical media that uniquely combines these two storage formats for distribution on a single disc; a DVD on one side, and a CD on the other.

To make these DVDPlus© discs, we use the latest in manufacturing technology, and a patented process where the CD and DVD layers are bonded together to provide a multi-format hybrid technology disc, which is compatible in all CD, CD-ROM, and DVD-ROM formats, and is readable in all conventional CD players, DVD players, and personal computers.

A DVDPlus© OneDisc™ allows you to integrate your visual and audio products into a single unit, such as presenting a movie or music video on the DVD side, and the soundtrack of your movie or your music album on the other. The DVDPlus© would be excellent in a business setting as well. You can have a presentation on the CD side, and a video on the DVD side illustrating a concept from your presentation.

One of our customers, Simple Truths, needed to somehow combine a CD and a DVD, and found the DVDPlus© OneDisc™ to be an excellent solution. Their book, "What It Take To Be #1" by renowned coach Vince Lombardi and Vince Lombardi, Jr. was to include an audio CD of Vince Lombardi's famous speech and a DVD video with a presentation of photos and inspirational quotes. Including separate discs proved problematic, and it was difficult to properly package the discs with the book. We proposed the DVDPlus© OneDisc™ as a solution to their problem, and together we created a solution that not only made it easier to package, but also helped to make the presentation of the book and disc simple and professional.

Your deadline is approaching, and amidst all the pressure & stresses you are worried about making sure the artwork is setup correctly for manufacturing. Well here are a few tips to help you when submitting your art files.

First of all, we accept many different application files including: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Pagemaker, Indesign, Corel Draw, and Quark.

We ask you to submit native files, as they are easier to work with and easier to make changes on the fly. All files should be unflattened, and at least 300 dpi for best image quality. For color, your files should be in CMYK or in PMS colors, with the correct PMS color specified.

For media, silkscreen printing can be CMYK or in PMS colors, and is generally used for graphics that are not too detailed. For more detailed graphics, like photos of people or other high quality imagery, we recommend offset printing which is only available in a CMYK process.

Any fonts should be included with your art files, converted to outlines, or both. For silkscreened materials, font sizes should not be smaller than 5pt, for ease of readability, while offset print can handle smaller font sizes.

Art files can be submitted via e-mail, FTP, or sent in on a disc. The files should be zipped or stuffed before transmitting, so that there is a smaller chance of corruption. For more specifics let us know what you need or your troubles, and our experienced graphics team can help you.

We print an average of 2,000,000 impressions per month.  That translates into about 40,000 50-page books on a monthly basis.
