We’re not talking about your standard run of the mill box-these are top notch, creative, value-adding boxes that can make your product stand out. The reason for the SLCB declaration is that we’ve had a large number of projects this year requiring the engineering, design and manufacturing of some really cool custom made boxes. These boxes needed to house lots of components including multiple CD and DVD sets, workbooks, posters and lots of other great material.
With this influx of custom box projects, there has also been a substantial increase of inquires we’ve received regarding them. We’ve decided that it makes sense to share the word and to make it easy for you to have your own custom box.

8 Simple Tips: Designing your Custom Box
1. Make some measurements to determine what the box's inner dimensions will need to be.
2. Measure again. Just a small note, carpenters have a rule "measure twice, cut once", so make sure you measure a second time.
3. Determine the style of the box, pizza style, slant box with slip case, shipping box, presentation box.
4. Determine the type of printing, litho wrap, foil stamp, pad printed, etc.
5. Have a template made from your measurement needs, box style, and printing type.
6. Once you get the template: print a copy, cut along the trim lines, fold along the fold lines, and note where tabs will be tucked and which areas will be visible (where artwork will be needed).
7. Design the artwork making sure to remember about tucking tabs and visible/non-visible areas.
8. Send us your artwork and ask for a mock up to make sure the design will match the outcome.
